Shoe D’Jour : Things to write on post-it notes

My entire life is organized on post-it notes. It’s not such a good thing because sometimes the post-its get lost. I guess if I had a post-it wrist band or if a pad was somehow attached to my shoes, that would be lovely.
Thank you. Pierre Hardy for thinking of such a great way to remember [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Mesh up

The other day, I was talking about Vagabond… and I guess when I get over to Germany, I’ll have to check them out because I love these mesh booties! Kind of like pumps and kind of like booties, sexy and fun… maybe even the pink ones…

Shoe D’Jour : Save me…

I’ve loved these Dried Van Noten wedges for ages. Vagabond had knockoffs that wanted, but got scared off by the fact I’ve never seen them in real life, so I didn’t know how to gage the quality… Gimme Shoes is having a sale, and what used to be $710 is now $284…
I’m justifying [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Booties in the nude

Lately I’ve been noticing a new brand of shoe, well, the snippets I tear out of magazines, and have been saying Tashkent by Cheyenne. Stateside we may not have easy access to great shoes all the time, but these nude booties have me hopeful. Well, I imagine myself wearing them, going with my nude [...]

Shoe D’Jour : My new gladiators

Since American Rag was having a sale, and it’s in my neighborhood, I stopped in, and found these Repetto mini gladiators… they are a bit unusual, but the leather was so nice and they felt so nice on my feet, they were marked down to $35, so I had to get them.
Upon getting home, [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Embelleshed Suede

Embellishments can be fussy, at times gaudy, playful, chic. On shoes, it’s fun to have them, but most people save embellished shoes for special occasions. . Here in these Nicholas Kirkwood suede booties, the embellishments are not the traditional jeweled buckles but simple patent leather with a clean shape that’s echoed in the cut0outs.
I [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Nudie

Nude heels are the elegant woman’s version of going barefoot. Sort of. I bought a pair of nude heels with a wooden heel a few years ago, and although they are very high, they still have that bare feeling.
London It shoe designer Georgina Goodman, hand crafts shoe couture. Getting her break in shoe design a [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Killer Heels

I have nothing to say, but again… After seeing Christian Louboutin’s shoes for Rodarte’s AW08 collection, Louboutin is truly an artist. These are insanely beautiful and frightening, much like the inspiration of anime horror.
Amendment: I got distracted to post this earlier… but Marimello brought it up… is anyone just LOVING the tights???? Can anyone [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Super High

I’ve always dreamed of being able to pull off a thigh high boot without looking like a woman of the night. Well… I don’t really care, that much. In my neighborhood it doesn’t matter if you’re dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans, you still get solicited. Creepy.
Anyway… back to my point of thigh-high [...]

Shoe D’Jour : Pirate Bootie

Someone has to stop Punky Style. She has a great little shop on her blog. I just love these Grey Pirate Booties, they were $15, and exactly my size. I didn’t even think and I clicked ‘buy.’ Seriously. This is dangerous knowledge.
(Punky, I know I’m going to be living in these booties….thank you!)
