Burgundy had a moment in the 90′s. At least that’s how I remember it. Dying my hair burgundy because it was somewhere in between red, brown and purple. This year, it’s made it’s return, and I love it. First of all it’s an autumn color, and I pretty much love all of those rich hues, almost as much as I love seeing the trees turn color.
Here I’m wearing a couple “shades of burgundy” burgundy, plum, tomato. Rich autumn colors. A few pieces I picked up for “Fashion Week shopping” which I ended up barely wearing that week. It was still too hot to wear anything heavy like sequins, or jackets, so today was the perfect day to pull out the rich colors. The skirt is from Zara, and I fell in love with it’s native-inspired pattern. Actually, I tend to love geometric patterns in general, and this really fits that. The blazer is form Aritzia, a store where they pretty much know me as a regular, as they have good quality clothing with decent prices. Not cheap, but not expensive. Either way, having a good colored blazer in the mix is important, especially when the days get greyer, it’s nice to have a bit of color to pick you up.
Yesterday morning I came into the office and found an unexpected package from Saks Fifth Avenue, a 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Bag as a “thank you” for the post on IFB, 5 Chic Handbags that Will Fit Your Blogger Gear. It was a huge surprise. Although I do love the bag, as with my clear Pashli bag, it does fit everything I need for every day use, and it’s and amazing handbag. I have the Abichi satchel which also has that great balance of looking amazing and carrying all my gear. This bag here with it’s colorblocking does make it a bit more versatile as it goes with most autumn and winter outfits. Generally speaking, I believe 3.1 Phillip Lim is one of my favorite designers, as the brand continually makes easy to wear, yet statement pieces.
