At a dinner some place, some time, someone said… “I think we should have dress up Fridays instead of casual Fridays.” I wish I remember who it was, but the sentiment stuck. Today anyway. I had to move out of my office and for now settling back in the home office, only now, I’m not alone, but with the IFB interns, so no yoga pants to work!
Summer is happening everywhere except the southern hemisphere and San Francisco. My friend came in to town last night from NYC and totally unprepared for the weather we’re having. We went out shopping to get her some layers, and well, me… I’ve been living in cardigans and tights with summer dresses. It’s my vicarious summer attire!
There are a few pieces I’ve been wearing a lot lately, this bow belt and cardigan I got at H&M. The grey bow belt seems to go with everything, denim shorts, over blazers, over cardigans…you name it.

I like the bow belt. I need more belts. The only thing is that midway through the day it starts to bug me and i take it off and then can’t find it! Same way with rings.

LOVE this look. It’s been in the 70s at most all summer here in LA but I think we’re going for the 90s next week. I’ve been in skirts/short sleeves/jackets instead of my usual sundresses at work.

Hi! This is really cute and lady-like, I like the belt a lot. I know not having real summer is no fun, but it might be better than dripping heat and humidity like the rest of us have (I’m in the Midwest).

at my office we have “corporate friday” instead of casual friday
i rarely do it though. Tights w/belted sweaters is a great way to get the sundresses in, even when it’s not summer. i tend to forget that’s an option, and just end up wearing leggings all the time. So thanks for the reminder

I really love the idea of dress up Fridays! I was in San Francisco last week and wore shorts and was freezing! I won’t make that mistake again tomorrow! Although, I’m kind of jealous of the cool weather you’re having. In Sacramento it’s in the 100s!
I think that is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time. Everyone is so casual theses days, including most corporate environments, that it’s now different and refreshing to dress up.
