If anyone were to ask, I am a cat person. I love dogs too, so maybe I go both ways. Speaking of two ways… There are two basic shapes of glasses I feel comfortable in, on being the ‘Jackie O’ oversized round shape, which you commonly see me wear…it’s probably the most consistent part of my wardrobe throughout my life. The second type is the cat eye… though in recent years, it’s been hard to get my hands on a pair, and thankfully it’s been making it’s way back into the mainstream, since Alexander Wang came out with a modern geometric version, I’ve been craving the return of the classic shape.
Luckily, on the trip to the West Village with Market Publique, we stopped in on the Cynthia Rowley shop to check out what’s new, and lo hand behold I find these beautiful tortoise cat eye glasses with blue lenses… As soon as I put them on, it was meant to be.. the perfect blend of vintage style tweaked to a perfectly modern shape, and oh so dramatic. Yes, these are my new sunglasses, you’ll be seeing me wear them around quite a bit.

lol. I tend to gravitate towards either cat-eye sunglasses or classic aviators, though I have a stash of sunglasses of various shapes to choose based on my mood/outfit.

Niiice! I love the Lana Turner version of Immitation of Life because in it she wears cat eye glasses with blue lenses! I’ve always wanted a pair just like them. These come pretty close.

These are classic but the blue gives them an edge. The shape still reminds me of Ray-Ban Wayfarers and the style automatically make me think of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Those tortoise shell cat eyes are gorgeous! I myself have bought a new pair of Luella Teal cat eyes about 2 weeks, but wished I had found the cynthia ones first. So jealous here!
I like the more modern ones now more so than the vintage collections. My pair has a dark smoke lens. I’d love to get the Cynthia pair, but I cannot afford them now…. but I will definitely add them to my wish list! I saw they were $175 on their web site — not too shabby at all!
