It happens every year. Winter comes around, and we’re so blindsided by the holidays we forget how cold and miserable it gets, and how layering in all those chunky knits become an essential evil. I have been living in chunky knits, and once photographed in a sweater that made me look so fat, I burned the sweater after seeing the pic. Ok, I didn’t really burn it. But never again will I be seen in public with that sweater again.
On the last day in NYC I hung out with Pamela from Market Publique, who showed me around the West Village. We had cupcakes at Magnolia and went to Cynthia Rowley, Albertine and some perfume shop, that I thought was beautiful, but I still can’t wear perfumes. Stupid skin, rejecting perfume. The day before, I made my regular stop at Century 21 where I picked up a pair of shorts for spring, a lace top and cashmere tights. It was probably the best C-21 run I had ever done, spending less than $100. Wendy Brandes lent me this sequin blazer from TopShop so I wouldn’t freeze out in the city.
