This is it…the last minutes before I head out to New York. Hopefully… with the snow storm that looms, my flight is canceled, so I’ll be riding in on a train half way across North America. That’s 20 hours… I’m calling it ‘European Style’ traveling, because I can’t remember the last time I took a train anywhere in America!
I’m ready, I’m more than ready, I’m anxious to get through this… it’s been a lot of hard work preparing for fashion week, seemingly even harder than ever. Also, more exciting. This time I have decided to try not go go in rags…like all the previous times before, I did get a few new items (I’ve yet to show you) but this last piece was an impulse buy.. After seeing these Jessica Simpson Charles Anastase knock offs on Aparrallel, I instantly went searching for them… I had to have them. Sure, they’re knock offs…they’re ‘wood’ (plastic) heels… but that much wood would be super heavy, and loud! I just fell in love. So much for resisting the ‘clog trend’ these kind of go in that category. The truth is, I haven’t even been much of a platform wearer since the mid/late 90′s, and for $90…I figured why not? I tried to get the ones in tan,but they completely sold out. Now the pewter ones are almost sold out too. Dang. Anyway, I hope it doesn’t snow too much more, because I really want to wear them this week!

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!! OMIGosh, I spent three days searching for the tan ones in my size & can’t find them anywhere. Don’t promote them, for goodness sake!! Now I’ll never find them. LOL!

all right…crazy story! i first saw these on a blog i *wish* i remembered who it was, then i saw the tan ones on ebay for $63. luckily i bought them right away. then lulu chang tweeted she got the silver ones…the next day rumi featured her black ones…then carey of corks + caftans showed off her tan ones…now you & silver. i’ve never seen a pair of shoes literally SWEEP the fashion blog world!!! *whew* glad i got mines. i hope i can wear them during NYFW…who knows what slushy nastiness this snowstorm will bring

I just realised something. I was originally gonna drop everything to fly to New York from Sydney for the IFB conference, cos I so wanted to go. But I realised that flying 20+ hours to only be able to go for 4 days would be kind of ridiculous. Especially so when I looked back and all the places had filled up. But now I see that YOU’RE traveling 20+ hours to go! Of course, you’re organising it…but it makes me wonder if I shouldn’t have thrown caution to the wind and just gone for the heck of it. Especially with the overflow room now organised. One of those things I’ll always regret, I suspect…

I have a question: Overall, how do you feel about Jessica Simpson’s line? I’ve seen many pieces I adored, but I’m usually loathe to purchase “celebrity” stuff for various and sundry reasons. But her shoes and bags are adorable. Do you think her stuff (excluding these obviously awesome shoes) is worth the purchase overall in terms of uniqueness/quality/etc?
