This is truly an amazing video; and I could not agree more with your thoughts. Some companies become too aggressive - almost like bullies demanding certain things. As fashion bloggers, I believe it is our duty to create ideas of our own; and, if inspired by a bit of news that comes our way, work with it. Our blogs are our own - no one should dictate what we feature on them. Also, when you begin seeing everyone feature the very same product at the exact same time it's as if you lose your personal blogging voice. :)

What's frustrating with 'seeding' is when PR/Brand Managers feed you a story that has no news content - content that would otherwise be considered advatorial by traditional press! But Yvan is right, 2010 is a great year to be a fashion blogger!

Great job Jennine! And you got your point across just fine, don't worry that you "should have" thought things out more. As far as your question regarding traditional media -- I don't see much difference, PR companies are always pitching. With blogging, I've noticed a change in the way they're pitching. Previously they pitched in a way that led you to believe they hadn't even looked at your blog. Now they are picking out something from one post and commenting in the email pitch (usually your latest post) even though what they are pitching is completely unsuitable for inclusion on the blog. My guess is that bloggers complained about them not bothering to read before pitching, so now they think if they include a tidbit about your blog that you'll fall for their pitch. Ah psychology in the PR world, LOL!
Cheers!
Suzanne
