Where did this year go? The holidays snuck up on me faster than ninja cat. So here we are, Black Friday a week away, and please don’t tell me you already have your gifts all purchased and wrapped. I have a friend who every year buys herself a nice handbag around the holidays. That’s her gift to herself. I always thought that was a lovely way to treat yourself at a time of year when we’re going crazy for one reason or another. While I tend to be more into shoes  than a bags, I do have to say having a nice handbag can be just as gratifying.

This year, Coach has included The Coveted as one of 30 bloggers for  their Holiday Blog-a-day this season.  I got to style three items from their holiday collection and tell you what I think of them! Wendy Brandes and I took these photos back on the visit with her in October, she was so kind to take photos of me, as I didn’t feel comfortable putting my tripod in the middle of the street…  The above photo, she’s holding the Brooke silver sequin clutch. If you don’t feel comfortable wearing sequins, having a sequin bag might be the perfect accessory for the holidays. I really liked the muted pewter tone of the sequins, and the size of the clutch is big enough to carry modern necessities, like a smart phone, a wallet,  a compact and lipstick. I felt the hardware on this piece was a bit overkill, and wasn’t well balanced with the sequins, if I owned this bag, I’d probably do away with the chain strap, which is how I ended up styling it anyway. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love chains, just not with sequins.

Motorcycle Gloves… I love leather gloves. I must have three or four pairs, yet, I don’t own any black ones! These motorcycle gloves are made with butter soft leather, wrist length, have gorgeous ribbing and an adorable zipper. I wasn’t expecting to like these as much as I did, though I would recommend trying them on to get a proper fit, as I would have liked them more if they were teensy bit tighter.

Audrey large grey textured leather handbag… this bag they let me keep, and also one to give one away to you… I’ve been using mine since this photoshoot, and it’s amazing how medium sized it looks and what it can fit… 15″ Macbook, my Canon Digital Rebel, my phone, a book, makeup, and a couple bits and pieces. Granted, I’m used to schlepping all that in a fabric handbag, leather with hardware is a bit heavier, yet, I really like this bag, it’s really held up to daily wear, the color, a warm grey goes with all of my coats, and my brown leather gloves, I love the satin lining, it’s just a nice all around every day bag. And the chain? Well, I love the chain strap on this bag.

How I’d wear it…

The Brook sequin clutch I’d use on a night out. Here I’m wearing a silk taffeta Francis flutter sleeve dress, Topshop leggings, my trusty Aldo boots, with a thin cotton sweater by Inhabit underneath. Oh yeah, and that eagle belt from Rocky’s closet, I seem to wear every day.

For the day time, as mentioned above, I would carry the Audrey bag with basically anything I’m wearing this season, it’s pretty versatile. Here I’m wearing a wool cloche from Target, Fillipa K blazer, Inhabit sweater, tweed skirt from H&M, Market Publique cuff, and the eagle belt. Of course, I rarely like to leave the house without gloves, the Motorcycle gloves make finish off the outfit.
