Now Craving : Sock Garters

What do you do with socks that seem to have a mind of their own? Socks shouldn’t have free will… but they do… often times escaping in the dryer, divorcing their mate, they hide from shoes, stretch out, get holes on the first wear, and most annoyingly they like so shimmy down your leg when you distinctly tell them to stay up! Socks are the cats of the garment world, and I love them. Lately I haven’t been able to go one day without wearing socks, and that’s like a world record, or a Jennine record, because since I was a kid I’ve never been one to keep track of my independently minded socks. Therefore bypassing the whole thing, and investing in shoes that do not require them.

Forgive me for being slow on the uptake, but leave it to the lovely SwanClothing to give us a solution. After all, she gave us the practical bustle, the handbag I live in, and darling sundresses… now it’s the  good old fashioned sock garters (with pretty swan embellishments). I’ve been coming back to these for the past few months, thinking to I could use those, not just for my knee highs, which I guess would require a different kind of thigh high, but to bring back life to other lengths of less ‘of the moment’ sock lengths. Or perhaps they can be layered like A door in my wardrobe did with her pair, by layering it with  various hosiery that runs. So perhaps I’ll be able to get my act together with these garters, that way at the very least I won’t have one sock up and one sock down.
