Necklush Giveaway!

necklush

Once you get into scarves, it’s a tough to break away. I pretty much will wear a scarf all year around, except the days that would cause heat stroke if I did wear them. As much as I love scarves and any neck garment in general, finding interesting but not ‘crazy’ accessories can be a challenge. I first came across Necklush from Moosh in Indy, who was wearing one of their pieces at NYFW back in February. I really loved how the colorful screen printed cotton jersey strands wrapped together in a not scarf, not necklace, intricate but not fussy accessory.

I was excited when the lovely guys at Necklush sent the Winterberry Necklush Ultra to check out and style myself. After pawing it on someone else (I do that), it was nice to actually work it into how I would wear it. Of course it took me all of two seconds to mess up the strands, but I like how organic and unique an imperfect accessory is, otherwise it takes just a quick shake out to get the strands in order.  Here I decided to make the Necklush the star, by going with a simple outfit.

necklush2Heather crop top and sunglasses from Urban Outfitters • Corset waisted Era of Chaos jeans, with purple fringe heels by NYLA •  The bag is courtesy of Coach (and a sneak peek as to what’s coming for you next week) • Cuff from Market Publique • Ring from Wendy Brandes
(sorry about the pouty face, I was frustrated by the shadow!)

It seems simple enough, but red is such a fantastic color. I tend to wear a lot of black and I would love to wear this with an all black ensemble so that the vivacious color will be the spotlight! I’d have to make sure my makeup was impeccable, perhaps a neutral eye, with some shimmer and dramatic cat eye liner and a perfect matte red lip. I can picture it now ; )

I’d have to say this one is my fave: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=29889958

By far – http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32204327

I love how the color makes it so chic and classic, but it still has so much detail and texture. My wardrobe is all black, grey, and white, punctuated with a few deep plum colored pieces, so this would be a lovely addition to almost any outfit in my arsenal. ^___^

You look so much like kate beckinsale here (only much younger)! The necklush – natural w/ dark grey print (organic) is my favorite http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32951160. Love the colors!

I love the bright orange and yellow of the first. Wearing the second would make me feel like a tropical bird and that’s a good thing.

Such a hard decision, I would have to pick Heather Grey! My favorite color. – http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31031660

Most of my wardrobe is made up of black or grey, so why not add more <3
The natural with magenta would have to be my second favorite, just too adorable.

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=34190291 This necklush is amazing and pretty much perfect for any season. The banana yellow is such a wonderful bright spring/summer color but the red and maroon is perfect for fall too. Its a stand-out piece but still in a near-neutral color. Really would get a lot of wear all the time, and I’m sure a TON of compliments.

These are all amazing. I really love them.

alexandra November 14, 2009 at 5:01 am

Hard to pick just one, they are all so tempting! I’d have to go with the heather grey:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33130014

it’s beautiful, like all of them are, but there’s something about the “cozy” factor that heather grey seems to elicit that just makes it so appealing…and yet chic enough to look great with anything you wore it with, dressed up or down!

Just the right amount of bulk, flexible enough to change the look, and PERFECT for the weather we’ve been having.
A unique fashionable way to stay warm.
Purple is one of my favorite colors too!
If I don’t win I’ll buy one anyways =)

As winter comes, warmer, darker tones bring comfort to the eyes. The color of this necklush might not be as warm and lively as red and orange, but it has a mystic feeling from the dark blue and a pleasantly secured feeling from the gray tone. If worn with white or gray, this necklush would complement the simple yet modern, the young yet chill characters of a person. With its thicker strands, it would also warm some one’s heart, protect it from cold winter blasts. It suits me well.
Finally, thank you for creating this giveaway. It’s enjoyable to participate.

This necklush is beautiful and I am dying over it–
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_1&listing_id=32058695
The color combination of ivory and black is not as harsh as white and ivory. It can go with anything and everything without having to dull down the colors in the rest of your outfit. The prints are a perfect mix of geometric and tribal but the pieces of knit fabric fall in organic patterns. This piece is an amazing example of the luxurious yet versatile qualities NeckLush has to offer.

Ashley November 15, 2009 at 1:05 pm

I love this piece because it is unique and different from all the rest. I also love the versatility of it, you can wear it as a choker, bib or long necklace?? Personally I’m favoring the bib look right now, but it’s so great to know if I’m ever in the mood, I can always change it up. Plus I feel like it’s definitely an attention grabbing piece :D http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33758932 Thank you!

Jenn Murphy November 15, 2009 at 5:13 pm

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32951160

This one is my favorite because it is a little shorter so you could wear it as one long strand, but it’s still long enough to double over. It also had fuller strands so you can get creative and do funky, messy loops too!

tanya November 15, 2009 at 5:57 pm

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32226954

Dayuummmnnnn the Necklush Supreme (dusty blue with print) is phat! (sorry but the excitement over this competition has made me regress into gangsta-speak :)
But truly, this piece is hands down a piece of art for your neck. I love that it is so in-your-face oversized, the heaviness of it, it’s ability to completely weigh down (or perhaps ‘anchor’ is a better word to use…? sorry my english is not so good!) an outfit while the delicate individual strands add a touch of daintiness and movement to such an enormous piece, ensuring that it doesnt become too cumbersome and hefty to wear. All in all, it is just a phenomenal statement piece and an incredible addition to any outfit!

Kylie November 15, 2009 at 7:36 pm

You have a good point about scarves…I think I need a scarf intervention. With the necklushes, it’s such a hard decision, because I would be content having about 10 of these in my closet. But, my favorite is probably the natural with dark grey (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=32951160). It looks newspaper-ish to me and would work with so many outfits. love love love necklush!

I actually really love Necklush Natural w/Dark Grey Print. One of the reasons is because it’s organic but really it’s because a Necklush looks to be piece that goes well with what’s already in my closet lots of black, and grey. I’m a sucker for the statement necklace and this is kind of that but more; it’s not a scarf and way beyond an eternity scarves that have been all the rage. Necklush seems to be a warm, fun alternative to this season’s statement necklace.

Lucy November 16, 2009 at 2:08 pm

very cool giveaway. I love this item http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33758932, it’s like a necklace but it’ll keep your chest area warm! :D

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30470140

I like this necklush for it’s deep, rich color (red of course) which is a great accent to any outfit– from a quick trip to the grocery to a great accessory for an elegant night on the town. The color and the thickness with the right clothing can scream “Free Spirit” as loud as it can “Urban Hipster,” and that’s what I love about it. Get creative about it, and wear it any way you want for just about every day of the week.
