Bold Brows from Tarte Cosmetics at New York Fashion Week

Tarte Cosmetics bold eyebrows at Hayden Harnett at New York Fashion Week

by Sonja on September 23, 2009

Makeup artists for eco-chic Tarte Cosmetics featured bold brows at the Hayden-Harnett Spring 2010 Fashion presentation at New York Fashion Week. Personally, I love the look. Beautifully shaped brows frame the face so nicely, give a polished look, and really draw attention to the eyes.

Brow-Close-Up-TarteThe Hayden-Harnett collection was inspired by a nomadic journey through lava fields and desert landscapes. Tarte makeup artists used this inspiration and created a muted look focused on strong, geometric brows. They kept the complexion warm and the look of the lips soft. And skin is positively radiant. I love how the eyes look like they have a spotlight on them.

Tone down the brows a bit and you’ve got a very wearable look for when you’re not workin’ it on the runway. Scroll down to see what they used to create the look.

And don’t forget to enter to win the Tarte “Coveted Collection,” a special collection of beauty treats for the eyes in a collection put together just for Coveted readers. Tarte’s giving away three sets, which include some of the products used at the show. You can get more details and info on how to enter here.

LOVE. I am in favor of bold brows over skinny, teensy ones.

Loving it. I love the bold brows look since I think that they can always make just about anyone look so striking. The entire look is beautiful and very fitting for a Spring look.

I love bolder, thicker and darker brows. They just seem to make a great statement.

I adore bold eyebrows, which is probably why I fill mine daily. I’d love for them to have that naturally thick & easily polished look ala Brooke Shields! I feel so much more put together when they are slapped on…

❤ Sal, yeah, I’ve never been a fan of thin brows. I don’t think it’s terribly flattering.
❤ Sheena, definitely!
❤ Kwil, yes, such a great statement.
❤ Ashe Mischief, it makes a huge difference when I fill in and shape my brows. I’m the same way – I feel so much better with them nicely groomed.

I love this look. It seems simple, pretty, and far from overdone. I’m a fan of stronger brows, too. Very nice.

I love the look! Though I have naturally thick brows, I still have a hard time getting them to look “right”. Its too easy to make them asymmetrical. Practice makes perfect!

❤ Alicia, I’ve definitely been doing more with my brows ever since I saw this look. Love it, too!
❤ carla, I know! So hard to get them symmetrical and even. But Rita Brown, Principal Makeup Artist for Shu Uemura, told me that we all have uneven brows so we shouldn’t get carried away trying to make them even. She also recommended doing a little at a time on each side instead of trying to do one brow completely at a time. Hope that helps!
