It’s that time of year when if we haven’t started thinking about boots…well, we’re thinking about boots. Usually I get mine in August, I’m so excited about boot season, but this time with the move and the Dress Up Soirée and NYFW, I seriously didn’t have time. Even in NY there was no time, and in a rush to put together the ‘perfect outfit’ for the IFB party, I had heard from a lot of people that Aldo is a great place to get trendy, affordable shoes, when I picked these Melkonian ankle boots up, I ran into the store, showed the sales guy my jacket, said, I wanted a pair of boots that would match this in a size 7, and these are what he brought me.
I have to say, that even compared to the Jeffrey Campbell buckle boot I’m really glad I got the Aldo ones instead. The heel is about 2.5 and totally manageable, I know this because I’ve been out all night, walked several miles and still survived in these. The buckles with studded straps add a bit of edge, but they are still wearable, which makes them a great boot.

You know, I saw these online and thought they looked tacky, but in person (and in these photographs – I think sometimes studio lighting is unfavorable for shoes!) they look AWESOME. I was hesitant about comfort though…good to know that’s not much of an issue!

Got a question for you. Loooove those boots you have on. But are those the exact ones online at Aldos? The material on the ones you’re wearing are more dull (which I looove) than the shiny tacky looking leather shown in the Aldo webstore. I’m dying to get a pair but not sure if they are the same type of leather. Can you help me?
