G-Star Raw SS10

When I went to visit G-Star Raw HQ back in July, a mere six weeks before the show, they were so kind to give a tour of the company and give a sneak peek into the Atelier working like mad on getting everything ready for the big show. Even then I did see some beautiful pieces, hand stitched silk-backed denim with rivets holding together a coat. The rack of vintage clothing they had as a source of inspiration.

To say seeing a work in progress affected my perception of the show on Tuesday night is an understatement. Already, the show was so grand, being in the Hammerstien Ballroom instead of the Bryant Park tents, it was grander, the stage, more dramatic, the runway more dynamic as it zigzagged through the audience. But knowing that underneath the plate like jacket was a beauiful silk print, and seeing where the inspiration came from, made the show an even more rich experience.

Jordana and I heard that there were celebrities…but at the time I didn’t see any, but upon closer inspection, I got Ryan Kwanten aka Jason Stackhouse in a few of my photographs… oooh swweet.
