Roses are my favorite… but not the hot house kind you get at the local 7-11 the ones that grow in people’s gardens. Hot house roses are too perfect, tight buds that never come to fruition. Garden roses are fragrant with velvety petals and organic shapes, their beauty is in their imperfection, and the rareity as you just can’t get them anywhere, you have to grow them, or know someone who grows them, else they are very expensive.
Here I’m wearing 90% thrifted outfit. Except the shoes, everything came from the flea market… and the fringe came from the fabric store, and I applied it to the flea market tank. The outfit is imperfect, 90’s harem pants with elastic waist, a long cardigan slightly too large, but all in all it’s the nuances that make it work. And of course my shoes, I can’t say enough how comfortable these little ladies are!

Gorgeous! I love the black and grey ensemble contrasted with the delicate pink petals, and your pink lipstick. I was at the Rose Garden in SF Golden Gate Park last week and fell in love with all the varieties of roses in the spring. Thanks for this post–anything about roses brightens my day.
I totally agree, why don’t the roses you buy open? The open ones are the best, and you can totally float the open blooms in a bowl of water.
You look fab and best of all comfy!!!

It must be a beautiful house, the garden looks so pretty… and you have roses!
It’s a nice outfit. I think it’s all well balanced in the proportions. Looks comfy but chic at the same time.
