This is my first photo shoot ever.
It’s ironic that a woman who failed English (only because I didn’t do the homework) and ditched photo class would end up writing and taking photos every day loving every second of it… and I thought high school would form my adult life.
Recently Modepass.com asked me to participate in their Beautiful Dolls (click to see the whole series) where I photograph fashion bloggers in different cities (well, the cities I can get to…). Similar to what Anne-So did for me. This time around I selected Katja from Bees and Balloons, as it turned out we only lived about 20 minutes from each other and I really love her blog. If you’ve ever been to Frankfurt, you must have stopped by the Azita which has the best clothes, of mostly any city, particularly Frankfurt (we don’t have a lot here, but if Azita were to move to another town like NY or London, I’m sure they’d fare quite well there too). They carry brands like Henrik Vibskov, Reality Studio, Woodwood, APC, and Bless.
My favorites were from the Henrik Vibskov, which I was kind of amazed how wearable the pieces were as the fashion shows tend to be amazingly over the top, I not-so-secretly wanted to just take the whole collection home with me and wear it around. I love the bold shapes and soft colors, everything ordinary had some extraordinary details.
Katja is such a sweetheart, and a trooper, as this is my first photo shoot as photographer/stylist/whatever and I was quite nervous, and wasn’t sure what to do. As I fumbled around, we were able to get some good shots. And so nice as she was moving to Berlin in a few days to go to do an internship at Glam.de then to Munich for another internship at Elle.de. I really think she’s going somewhere, and wish her the best of luck! Here’s a quick 5 minute interview with the lovely lady…
My next stop will be Berlin! So if you have any requests of Berlin bloggers you’d like to see, be sure to let me know. If you wouldn’t mind stopping by Beautiful Dolls to check out the full series, it would be great (and helpful in making it possible to feature more bloggers and stylish people!)
