Once upon a time I dabbled in vintage sales, finding a good place to sell online was kind of hard. Pay the high fees on eBay and get a good chance of selling, or go to Etsy with lower fees and try to fit a vintage square peg in a handmade round hole. There really isn’t an open specialized platform for vintage sellers online, until Market Publique launched yesterday. For the last six-seven-eight months, I’ve been drooling over Market Publique’s blog. They’ve been hinting at what they were up to…but I really didn’t know until I had brunch with co-founder Pamela when I was in NYC for fashion week. Pamela is awesome, and she’s a true believer in vintage… which really shows in the design and ease of use in the new site. For seller’s it’s great because there is a 25cent listing fee plus a 5% final value (I don’t want to bore you with numbers, but it’s a good deal). They’ve already got a good crew of vintage sellers including one of my favorite Viloteville (remember my winter coat?) and they’ve got Debutante to come out with some of her vintage finds, a Balenciaga clutch currently at $75. I really can’t wait to see this community flourish!
Here are some of my picks after day one:

So exciting. I’ve registered and put my first bid in!
Thanks for posting this! The site is amazingly user-friendly and so pleasing aesthetically – especially in comparison to the gaudy awkward mess that eBay has become. I’m hoping it’s a huge success!
And I can’t wait to go check out Debutante’s finds!!
Don’t tell Etsy, but I’m thinking of switching my whole vintage shop over!
Oh and by the way, that black sequin/lace dress is officially the inspiration for my wedding dress (I’m making my own). I’ve been looking ALL over the place for something to hit me, bridal sites are a waste of my time, and now you just hit me over the head with it. Picture it in off white, solid fabric instead of sequins and a huge full/flowy (not poofy) skirt. ahhhh!!! I’m freaking out!
I’ve been waiting for this launch so I’m glad to see it’s up and running!
Why am I finding all these lovely things now that I gave up shopping for Lent?
Yay I am glad the site finally launched too and glad my sequin dress could be your inpiration. It is SICK- I love it so much!!! The sequins are sooo super glossy they look like patent leather!!
just wanted to say thanks for posting this. what a nice site. i am all over it!
