You get so many treats and so much personal attention. I love the self-serve style of Sephora, etc. But you can beat the customer service at a place like Saks. I do get calls from people, so I'm made aware of the gifts. After I wrote my post, I realized I was only looking at the gifts and not the other perks - Makeovers, facials, events. And I actually got my make-up done by my Chanel person and a bunch of samples in addition to the gift. I guess I had a day of looking at the glass 1/2 full instead of 1/2 empty - or is it the other way around? I always screw this saying up. Anyway, I wasn't seeing all the good stuff in front of me! Sorry that you didn't get the gloss though. That's such a pretty color. As for gifts varying from event to event, I've definitely seen big variations. I guess it all depends on how big of an event it is. If you haven't already, ask the salespeople at your favorite counters to put you on their mailing/call lists. I get emails and calls and get to find out exactly what bonus goodies are to be had. However, apparently the goodies in the bag vary by location and I didn't get what looks like a beautiful peach lip gloss! I also got the Chanel gift (with $75 purchse).
