Living in a Polyhedron

Some say Myspace is heading in the same direction as Friendster, and it may well be… but every time I look around, I find the most interesting things… mostly student work and budding designers like this collection from Naza . Living in a Polyhedron is her most recent collection… a science fiction meets reality collection, where lengthy sheer tunics meet sculptural wool felt. but alas with many things myspace the rest remains a mystery.

  1. Wow, I really like this style – edgy, yet surprisingly wearable! Let’s bring myspace back! x

  2. ❤frankie… yes! as much as i like facebook, it sucks that you have to be friends with someone before you go snooping through thier profiles. hehe

  3. I would like to be able to do MySpace but I just can’t. There’s just too much stuff closing in on you all the the time. It’s the visual equivalent of a loud and continuous noise nuisance. Maybe I’m just too much of an old fogey.

Love these clothes, beautiful shapes and drapes.

  5. These are so lovely! I would have never thought to search MySpace for designers– mostly because MySpace tends to be impossible to use on my computer (it never fully loads, takes forever, etc).

But back to the clothes… typically I’m not one to get excited about a designer or line, but the way these drape, how structural they are…. they’re really so lovely.

  7. i also find a lot of interesting designers on myspace. one advantage is, that it is very easy to get in contact with people! i already established some “collaborations” via that messy jungle.

  8. This is great work. But I’m not sure I remember my MySpace password anymore!

  9. I never had a myspace thing. I guess I only follow it to look up smaller bands show-dates etc.
I dont wear pants much at all but that pair looks like I would make an exception. Would go well with my red boots and bike ;)

  10. ❤dressed… sometimes i have to do myspace with the sound off,, and it’s messy, that is true, but the gold i find, makes it worthwhile.
❤ashe… the draping makes it huh? esp the long black one…drrooool
❤fenke…great minds think alike! have you posted your colaborations? i’d be curious to see.
❤wendy..hehe, i had to try a few times, but eventually i got it.
❤meli.. ooh red boots! i’m likin’ your thinkin’

  11. Modern and edgy look and feel, I absolutely love it when the backs give hints of sheer and fall and flow- adore it! (especially in the third one)

Looks like it would make for a fun theme party over cocktails, hmmm- idea!

Myspace is a better place for designers I think- because it is open for anyone to view (so long as they decide to have it set that way).

Facebook is great for people you know, otherwise it can give too much personal information that just isn’t necessary in these types of settings.

There is more artistic freedom for an artist or designer to really reveal their collections on myspace. And people can find them easier too, I think. Having enough people voluntarily put them in a top ten gives more exposure as well.

  12. If everyone would declutter their profiles, get rid of the freaking music, and stopped posting porno shots of themselves, I might use MySpace more often.

But then again, I would have totally used it more often if I had known there were designers like this hanging out.

  13. Incroyable. I love the architectural hardness combined with the draping and gentle transparencies. The styling is a little too dramatic though. Distracting. The clothes are dramatic enough.

  14. ❤bombshell… yes, i agree, i love facebook, but it’s not easy to meet new peeps there… but i wish myspace were easy to look at.
❤sanda…wow, what profiles are you looking at? hubba hubba ;)
❤Ian, i thought so too… nice concept, but i would like to focus on the dramatic clothes. i’d like to see what she does next!
    xx
