Stateside, we call them pretzels… But in Germany, they are yummy crunchy on the outside, chewy in the middle bretzels. I love both the way they look and the way they taste, maybe as much as I love a good French baguette. Hmm… thank god, carbophobia is so 2005.
Here I am folded up on the stairs trying to fit in the frame… I feel like a bretzel. Mixing crunchy masculine and chewy feminine elements… a mini dress with a blazer, rolled up jeans and a scarf tied up kind of like a bretzel.

ah yes, in the US you eat them like snacks – with sweet toppings and such. Never have eaten any of those, but the originals are the better anyway in my humble opinion. Try them with fresh butter (much of it! I love butter). Very classic!!!

Yes, yummy indeed. I visited Germany years ago and discovered their food to taste surprizingly good! I bet this Bretzels will be the same. Interesting, looking at the picture they look more like a cake to me than a pretzel, but maybe that’s just me.
Those pretzels are the best – visited Germany a few years ago and that was practically all I ate. So good! Too bad I haven’t found anywhere in London that makes them just like that, the closest I’ve gotten is AMT coffee.

Laugen bröchen, laugen bretzel, man, this is one of the foods I miss most on this side of the pond. Every once in a while I find a good one, but most are nothing (NOTHING!) like good German Laugen! Laugen bröchen, egg, tomato and a minimal smear of good mustard was my breakfast for months in Gießen. You make me hungry!
