Subtle Stripes

Stripes can be intimidating because they usually are so bold… they drastically effect the figure.

Sometimes in the blogworld it’s easy to overlook the power of texture and subtlety in attire. In reality, it’s very important to putting together an outfit. Stripes can be intimidating because they usually are so bold… they drastically effect the figure, but stripes don’t always have to be so obvious. Today I’ve been looking at using different kinds of stripes to pull together an outfit… the pleats in a camisole, the stripes created by shadow in corduroy, a denim pinstripe blazer (which I’m wearing all the time these days). It’s nice to put together elements that hint at each other creating a simple, yet pleasant surprise.

The Outfit:

Pinstripe denim blazer & cami (flea market)
Corduroy Johdpurs (Minnie Wilde)
Wedges (Mark Jacobs)

The iron will come out one of these days… apologies for the wrinkles… it’s Monday.

  1. Back in the day I had the matching pants to that jacket. They were pleated and tapered.

  5. I love this look. The colors are wonderful together (& very subtly hint @ fall) and the textures really add a whole layer to the mix.
