Probably one of the first reasons I wanted to become a designer of some sort, was because I always loved the cool, snappy way designers dress. As though they were trying to make order out of chaos. Of course, I pick the superficial reason for choosing an occupation.
This weekend I found loads of scarves, ties, and trousers, mixed with some glasses… I decided to go with what someone like Ray Eames would wear in the 50′s, a West Coast architect or furniture designer. Not that this is anything like what she would wear, but I’ve always been inspired by her and other women who had interesting careers at that time. (Not that I’m not inspired by women with interesting careers today… sorry, my brain isn’t werking so well). Anyway, to the shoppe!

I’ve said this about, oh, two posts ago, but your photos get better every day.
aw, thank you.
thank you wendy! the remote control makes it easier to have fun doing the shoots.
You’re the most animated model I’ve ever seen! If I had my own magazine, I’d totally have you in every issue!
Wahoo! I’m totally in love with your last two pics Jennine. This is how I imagine I would want to dress if I were a genius designer- in my pretty undies and some bright smock.
Everything looks even more precious with those glasses! And that adorable blue dress in the first picture is so cute! And the skirt with the horizontal bars! You are indeed a temptress.
You look like Mr. Science’s wife.
Amazing shots ! My favourite is probably the first one, not just the outfit but the picture itself, really stunning.
that’s a good reason to become a designer.
Those glasses are great! What is the style called? x
SADNESS to have arrived at the party too late for that striped skirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps – i have a question about your store in general. many of your items are listed as medium-large but yet they all look like they fit your teeny frame! the measurements you provide are obviously key, but wondered if you could comment on how you’re getting them to look fitted on you? belts? cinched in the back? magic?
theurbancollection.com mentions when the item has been cinched in the back and it’s helpful for me atleast. just curious! xo, j
You look so lovely with eyeglasses!
thanks for all the lovley comments!
as far as the clipping goes… i’m actually not that petite (thank you for thinking that though), more like a us4 or us6… so more a medium, i don’t clip any of the clothes, but i do wear a belt, which you see in the pictures. hmm… should i say that it’s belted? or show pic w/o the belt?
a us4 or 6 is small, silly!
