After the whole Brazil fiasco, I’ve decided to take the afternoon to go to a nearby village, Dreieichenhain for an ice cream to cheer me up. The last few days have been insane trying to get ready and frankly I’m just exhausted. Still though there is a lot of work to do, as I’m trying to get the new Independent Fashion Bloggers site running, and I have some stuff for the shoppe which will probably go up tomorrow.
It’s amazing how there are all these little pockets of wheat fields and a 12th century village and castle just a ten minute bicycle ride through the forest. I’ve never imagined a life like this, as if you’ve ever been to a Southern Californian suburb, well, it’s a different world.

It looks so awesome. You must be having a blast!
i’m sorry about brazil, but at least you are still enjoying yourself! i’m very excited to see what’ll be new in the shoppe, and those pictures are fantastic. the one with you in the bottom right reminds me of the song fields of gold!
Sorry to hear that Brasil didn’t work out. What made you move to Germany, Jennine? (When I started reading your blog you were just planning to move there and I can’t remember if you spoke about what motivated that move…) It’s such a beautiful place to live.
those pictures are so beautiful! and you look cute as a button in them!
so soory to hear about the brazil thing. bute hey berlin is coming very very soon
this will most definitely chear you up. I have never been to dreieichenhain by the way. pretty much reminds me of the heidelberg area, which i pretty much miss
but hey i am in berlin now…
Good on ya! Dreieichenhain is a lovely place. I know it’s still summer, but you should check out the christmas market there in december.
WTF!!! Am I a total tard? I thought you lived in somewhere in Cali, but this can’t be the case. So you live in Germany?
thanks so much for all the lovely comment…
matt oh no! i just moved here four months ago, a lot of people seem to think i’m still in cali…
kline- well i moved here for love and adventure!
anna, you bet i’ll be going to the christmas market there, it’s such a cute town!
mahret, maybe you’ll just have to visit me.. hehe
So sorry about the Brazil thing! That’s a shame, but I’m sure on some level it was meant to be! At least you have gorgeous German villages filled with wheat fields and ice cream to cheer you up! You’ve been looking absolutely amazing, by the way.
It looks fantastic–such blue skies and good weather I’m assuming from your bare arms.
This was something I always loved about Europe. That unlike here, taking off from the city doesn’t mean either 1) absolute wilderness or 2) soul sucking suburbs. Every village I visited in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic was like something out of a story book. Just wonderfully unreal.
the photo on bottom left, taken in the field is super nice!
