Views of California from the road…

california I-5

Rocky and I have been on the road for what seems like three days straight. Driving down to my parents house in Southern California was particularly beautiful this time. Perhaps I’ve never been down the I-5 in spring? The hills are green and the clouds were particularly puffy. Just such a nice treat for the eyes.

Yesterday I had a meeting in Laguna Beach, and I thought I would have time to visit some boutiques in Los Angeles and Orange County… that was ambitious because the traffic is so intense… but we managed to circle the greater Los Angeles area in our little Prius. The sense of space and time is completely different in Southern California than it is in San Francisco… so today, I’m totally taking it easy… so here are some pics of the trip:

Fine cuisine on the I-5… Cap’n Crunch milkshakes… a guilty pleasure.

Sunsets are always lovely…

I always trip out over the San Bernadino Mountains… there is always snow on them even when it’s boiling in the valley.

Los Angeles…

More LA… although the people I saw there looked natural… these billboards all over the place made me wonder if my eyes were deceiving me.

Laguna Beach is gorgeous!

Ah, going 2mph on the freeway… even that can be beautiful sometimes.

It has been a ‘wet’ spring for So Cal that’s why the hills are green. I just love it this way. It will all turn brown soon though.
